Introducing Hood Brook Bee School โ€” The Official Bee School of Saving the Honeybees

Beekeeper inspecting hive at Hood Brook Apiary

I am genuinely excited to share some big news with the Saving the Honeybees community โ€” one that I believe will open up an incredible opportunity for anyone who has ever wanted to learn the art and science of beekeeping.

As of this spring, Saving the Honeybees is proud to officially partner with Hood Brook Honeybees to bring you the Hood Brook Bee School โ€” and we couldn't be more thrilled about it. This is the official bee school of SavingtheHoneybees.org, and it's everything I wished existed when I was starting out.

Debut Special Pricing

Membership is normally $25/year โ€” but the first 20 members to enroll get in at the debut price of just $12.50 for the first year. Half price, full access. Don't sleep on this one.

What Is Hood Brook Bee School?

Hood Brook Bee School is an online beekeeping education program built around real, hands-on knowledge from people who actually work bees. It's not just a video library โ€” it's a structured curriculum with lessons, quizzes, and live instructor Q&A sessions designed to take you from total beginner to confident beekeeper at your own pace.

Every module builds on the last. You won't be watching random videos in no particular order โ€” you'll be working through a deliberate, practical program that mirrors how real beekeeping knowledge is developed in the field.

What's Covered

The school launches with six full courses covering everything a new beekeeper needs to know โ€” and a few things experienced beekeepers will find genuinely useful too:

Introduction to Beekeeping

7 lessons

Setting Up Your First Hive

5 lessons

Seasonal Hive Management

8 lessons

Hive Health & Disease

7 lessons

Honey Harvesting

4 lessons

Beekeeper Q&A Sessions

4 lessons

Total that's 35 lessons across six structured modules, plus four dedicated live Q&A sessions with Hood Brook's instructors โ€” where you can bring your real hive questions and get real answers.

Why This Matters to Me

When I started keeping bees, I had to piece together knowledge from a dozen different sources โ€” books, YouTube, local club meetings, and a lot of trial and error. It worked, but it took years to build up a solid foundation. What Hood Brook Bee School offers is that foundation from day one, delivered in a thoughtful, organized way that respects your time.

More importantly, this school reflects the values at the heart of Saving the Honeybees: the best thing we can do for honeybees is to create more knowledgeable, confident, caring beekeepers. Every person who learns to manage a hive well is one more person on the side of the bees.

How It Works

Enroll, and you'll get immediate access to the full school. Work through the modules in order โ€” each one ends with a short quiz to confirm you've got the material before moving on. Complete the program and you'll have genuine, practical beekeeping knowledge you can put to work in the yard.

Membership is $25 per year, which includes all course content, all future updates, and access to the live Q&A sessions. And remember โ€” the first 20 members pay just $12.50 for year one. That offer won't last long.
